Modjadji Cycad Reserve

Situated in the Lobedu Mountains, home of the Modjadji rain queens, lies the Modjadji Cycad Reserve. The reserve boasts the highest concentration of a single species of cycad, featuring some of the oldest and largest cycad specimens on earth. Certain species of cycads grow to over 13 metres tall with cones that weigh around 34 kilograms. The reserve features 12 kilometres of pathways where visitors are able to view impala, blue wildebeest, nyala, monkeys and over 170 species of bird.
