The Tatham Art Gallery is located in Pietermaritzburg and is considered one of South Africa's top art museums. Housed in a beautiful Victorian building, the gallery was first opened in 1903 and contains an important collection of South African, British, Victorian and French art. Some of the artworks include paintings by Degas, Picasso, Renoir and Matisse.

Café Tatham is situated on the first floor, offering delicious beverages as well as light and simple lunches. The Café is perfect for a quick lunch and is also able to host special occasions. The Tatham shop stocks unique and authentic crafts made by locals.
