Butterfly World makes for a fun outing for the whole family, and is home to hundreds of brightly coloured, free-flying butterflies in the centre’s 1000m² greenhouses.

Butterfly World imports 500-800 butterfly pupae per week all year round. The pupae then emerge into the humid tropical garden environment, where they feel right at home. Visitors can wander along the pathways amidst the greenery and water features and observe the butterflies as they flit around.

Also to be seen at Butterfly World are a variety of birds, reptiles and spiders as well as meerkats and other small animals. After walking around, guests can enjoy a snack and some refreshments at the Jungle Leaf Café, and browse the gift shop where hundreds of butterfly themed items are for sale.

Butterfly World is located on the R44 at the cross roads of the Paarl, Stellenbosch and Wellington Wine Routes.
