Swellendam

Situated outside of Swellendam, the Bontebok National Park is set against the backdrop of the Langeberg Mountains. The area is a World Heritage site with a diverse ecosystem with many rare and endangered bird life, fynbos species and animal life. On the western border of the park is the Breede River and offers guests a swimming and fishing spot. The park is home to many different species of animals including the Zebra, Red Hartebeest, Steenbok, and its namesake the Bontebok which was brought back from the edge of extinction due to the conservation programmes at the Bontebok National Park. The area has a very diverse eco-system with fynbos and Renosterveld.
