Located on Durban’s Golden Mile, between Bay of Plenty and Dairy Beach, North Beach is a popular beach destination with its great surfing and body boarding conditions. The beach is looked after by the Durban Surf Lifesaving Club who ensures safety in the water – which are also protected by shark nets.

The vibrant boardwalk behind the beach is full of activity as well as restaurants for grabbing lunch or drinks after a day of sun. During the holidays, particularly in December, the beach is very busy and you’ll have to get there early.
