Voelklip is a relatively small beach with grassy slopes leading down from the parking area to the sand. The size of the beach is very much dependant on the tides – at low tide it is possible to walk around the rocks to the neighbouring Kammabaai, while at high tide most of the sand ends up under water.

This is a popular beach with surfers, sunbathers and families – there are plenty of rocks to clamber on and explore. There are change rooms and toilets, and in the summer months there are lifeguards. Also in summer, you will find the resident ice-cream van parked in the car park. In the peak summer months, arrive early to grab a parking space and a spot on the beach.
