Kammabaai Beach

Hermanus

Also known as Nanny's Beach, Kammabaai is a family favourite and in the peak holiday season it’s best to arrive early. There are two sections to the beach, divided by a rocky outcrop filled with rock pools and all sorts of interesting things to discover. The size of the beach is very much affected by the tides, and at high tide there is not much sand left to sit on.

The beach is also very popular with surfers and body boarders, but beginners should be wary of the rocks and strong rip. In the summer months there are lifeguards on duty, and you’ll find the resident ice-cream van parked in the car park. There are toilets as well as some braai spots under the milk wood trees.
