Loskop Dam Game Reserve

Located 40 km north of Middleburg, Loskop Dam is 27 km long and covers over 2350 ha making it the largest dam in the Southern Hemisphere. This malaria free reserve is about 23 000 ha and is home to a unique variety of animals including 70 species of mammal ranging from white rhino, leopard and hippo to warthog and giraffe.

Bird enthusiasts will enjoy the diversity of birdlife and may come across the southern bald ibis, tawny eagle, blue crane and black stork amongst others.

Interesting activities and attractions include game viewing by boat, watersports, hikes, fishing, paint ball and horse riding. Anglers will especially enjoy their time here as the dam is stocked with carp, sharptooth catfish and mudfish.
