This is a great big 5 safari destination and one of the largest game reserves in South Africa. The reserve boarders Botswana and is a 3.5 hour drive from Johannesburg.

This malaria free area is comprised of bushveld and thornveld and is therefore home to a diverse range of species.

The reserve is 75 000 ha and is home to approximately 66 mammal species including elephant, rhino, lion, spotted hyena, giraffe and antelope. 300 bird species can also be spotted here.

Day and night drives as well as bush walks can be arranged for guests.

Please note that no day visitors may enter Madikwe without booking through one of the lodges.
