Monkeyland

Plettenberg Bay

Monkeyland is found 16km east from Plettenberg Bay and is a unique sanctuary that allows several species of monkey to move freely in the surrounding indigenous forest. Visitors to Monkeyland are given the opportunity of up-close encounters with these playful primates as they swing through the trees.

A visit to Monkeyland includes an hour long, on - foot guided safari through the indigenous forests where one can expect to see monkeys such as; Gibbons of Asia, Howlers from South America and Lemurs from Madagascar to name a few. The monkeys at Monkeyland were previously caged and have now been given a new lease on life, in their natural habitats. The safaris are also an adventure as you explore the forest and walk across the 118km suspension bridge which provides a bird’s eye view of the dense forest below and is the longest one of its kind in Africa!
