Tokai Forest

Tokai

Tokai Forest is found at the slopes of the Constantiaberg mountains in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. This is a wonderful area for hiking, picnics, braais and cycling with plenty of well marked trails to explore. The forest is home to the Arboretum where you will find over 1500 trees, some more than 100 years old. These include Oaks, Cypresses, Pines and more. Stop in at Lister’s Place Tea Garden for refreshments in the pretty garden setting.

Tokai Forest is well-known as an ideal outdoor braai spot as it is scenic, shady and spacious.

To reach the forest take the Tokai Exit from the M3 highway.

A small admission fee is charged per car for entry to the forest. Dog walkers and cyclists require the relevant permits.

** Beware of troops of baboons which inhabit the area.
