Situated deep in the southern Drakensberg in the valley of the Bell River, Rhodes offers a snow covered winter-wonderland retreat in winter and fresh air and crystal clear mountain streams in summer.

The area is well known for the many trout filled streams that tumble down the mountainside and is extremely popular amongst fly-fishermen. Hiking and walking and horse riding can all be enjoyed, and in the winter months there is good skiing on the snow-covered slopes.
