The fishing village of Lambert’s Bay is situated two-and-a-half hours away from Cape Town on the rugged West Coast. The West Coast is renowned for its seafood and no visit is complete without a enjoying a meal at one of the beach restaurants where fresh catch of the day and crayfish are served in rustic outdoor settings.

One of the main attractions of Lambert’s Bay is Bird Island – one of only six sites worldwide where Cape Gannets breed. Visitors can experience an up-close encounter with thousands of penguins, cormorants and gannets in their natural breeding grounds – and the visitor’s centre offers guided tours, informative talks and a penguin pool.

Other activities including crayfish diving, boat trips and quad-biking can also be enjoyed.
