The West Coast fishing town of Saldanha boasts the country's finest natural harbour and its safe and sheltered location makes it popular amongst watersports enthusiasts.

With strong naval ties, Saldanha is also home to a Naval training base and the South African Military Academy. The surrounding countryside is awash with brightly coloured wild flowers in Spring each year, and there are hiking and walking trails to be enjoyed.
