Description

Montpellier provides a romantic setting for a country getaway, with a charming hillside chapel, picturesque wedding venue and old Cape style guest house.

Founded in 1714, this historical Boland Farm is embraced by "the mountains of fear" (Montténére), which in 1969 flexed their muscles with an awesome earthquake. Montpellier offers variety of temptations for the palate and senses, in true Tulbagh style.
Guests can enjoy stunning views of the mountains surrounding Tulbagh valley and the Montpellier vineyards. Horses graze peacefully near the manor house and there is a spacious swimming pool where guests can cool off. A covered braai area (barbeque) and pizza oven are hidden at the bottom of the huge garden.

Montpellier was established in 1714 and has had a long history as a working farm in the farming community of Tulbagh and the Cape.

Our accommodation is located near the vineyards with large oak trees providing ample shade in the gardens. Guests can book horses for riding sessions, or they can walk, run or cycle through the vineyards and into the village of Tulbagh. Montpellier provides a romantic setting for a country getaway, with a charming hillside chapel, picturesque wedding venue and old Cape style guest house.

  Wonderful country accommodation
(South Africa)   jason 20 December 2014
Montpellier is a lovely place to stay when visiting Tulbagh. The manor house has fantastic rooms - wooden floors and ceilings provide a beautiful country charm. The whole establishment is decorated wonderfully. We spent time in the pool and also exploring the breathtaking gardens.

The service was friendly beyond belief and my wife and I felt like royalty for the duration of our stay.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.
