Nestled in the Melville Koppies, JeanJean Guesthouse and Conference Centre makes a statement of modern - classical excellence, combined with personalized attention to detail – a home away from home. Our luxury private 5 star superior graded guesthouse is ideally suited to satisfy the most discerning business and leisure traveller.
All 20 rooms are: spacious, overlook the Melville Koppies and surrounding parks are double bedrooms with queen size beds and cotton bed linen of the best quality. Each room has a private bathroom (with bath and shower, and “state of the art” sanware and bathroom facilities), built-in-cupboards, stylish furniture, tea/coffee making facilities, a fully stocked mini bar, hair dryer, bath robes, radio and big screen satellite television. Two rooms each have a private balcony / patio and one of the suites also has a spa bath plus shower in the on suite bathroom. We also cater for disabled guests. No smoking in rooms.
Dinners and Sunday lunches are available at request or guests may visit the many restaurants, which are a walking distance away. JeanJean offers excellent breakfasts and dinners indoors and outdoors overlooking the nearby parks, dams, sports fields and "Melville Koppies". The ambience of the dining room is “classy” with a “homey” atmosphere, boasting an exclusive and unique wine display. Relax and unwind with a refreshing sundowner on the patios or lounges and enjoy the stunning views and amazing bird life.

We are just minutes away from the city center, bus stops, Universities (WITS & UJ), ABSA Training Centre, the SABC, banking malls, shopping malls, Parkview golf course, Johannesburg Zoo, Emmarentia dam (for canoeing or paddling), many parks, spin studios, gyms, theatres & casinos, other Northern suburbs (Sandton, Randburg, Killarney, Rosebank, Melrose Arch, Roodepoort, etc.) and major Freeways and Highways into all directions.
Melville has a lively village and “vibey” atmosphere. Shopping will be a pleasure here as well as in the surrounding shopping malls. Some of Johannesburg’s best restaurants (50+), pubs and night venues are within walking distance. Melville Koppies nature reserve and Bird Park is virtually on our doorstep.

| We have enjoyed our stay at JeanJean. Jean offers a professional service, yet friendly. With the ability to provide one with privacy also. Staying at a guesthouse can at times be too much 'involved' in ones privacy. This was not the case with our stay at JeanJean. Wonderful peaceful setting. We enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend this institution. Breakfast was a gastronomic delight. |

Although we only spent one night at the B&B, we were received very courteously,
Shown to our beautifully decorated and prepared room as well as being shown all the facilities that were available to us.
We were made to feel at home and shown the rest of the establishment.

| From the airport take the R24 to Johannesburg, then N12 to Johannesburg and then M2W Johannesburg. CBD will be on right of highway. Take Sandton / Pretoria M1N and then the Empire Rd turnoff. Keep to left (Auckland Park) stay in middle lane and continue over Barry Hertzog to T-junction (SABC) turn right into Kings Way and at 3rd traffic light (at Campus Square) right into University road, which becomes Main Street. At the 3rd traffic light (at May’s Chemist) turn left towards Melville on Westdene side. At the circle, the road splits. Take Ayr Road (Weg) to your right, continue downhill and turn left into Winchester Street. JeanJean is the last building on your left, corner Winchester and Avalanche Street (main entrance in Avalanche Street). |
