Experience country living on a historic Cape Dutch estate built 1802, centrally situated in the historic heart of Swellendam. The guest house is owner managed, offering superb hospitality with great attention to detail, focussing on quality, comfort and style.
Set in 1,5 hectares of luxuriant gardens with much indigenous flora and an abundance of birdlife.
Spacious guest areas in and around the historic house where one can relax and enjoy a drink in the lounge, on the patios or the veranda overlooking the gardens.
A memorable breakfast is given under the vines in summer and in front of the log fire in winter.
Swellendam is the jewel of the Overberg and the 3rd oldest settlement in South Africa situated halfway between Cape Town and the start of the Garden Route. Swellendam is renowned for its architecture, fascinating history, potters and great outdoor life i.e. Horse riding, Hiking, Canoeing.

| Excellent value for money! Rob made us feel very welcome and our cottage with a stunning view was an absolute delight, stylish and luxurious as advertised. Nice quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was a delight and we did not want to leave. Would definitely visit again. |

| A very good accommodation to stay in this wonderful town, very good situated in the elder part. We appreciated the hospitality, the very nice and traditional rooms as well as the very good breakfast. To stay longer, then for sure you like the advantages much more. |

| Swellendam is situated just off the N2, 240 km from Cape Town, or 160 km from Mossel Bay. The main entrances to the town, lead into Swellendam's main street, Voortrek Street.
From the Cape Town side: about 200 metres past the big white church, on the way to the Drostdy Museum, on the left hand side stands Augusta de Mist Guest House.
Well signposted with the image of Augusta de Mist, the building is just visible through the trees. Following the signs brings you into the garden, where parking is secure, shaded and close to your accommodation. |
