A place to relax in the heart of La Lucia, Carter's Lodge offers tranquillity with sea views, yet the convenience of being close to all amenities.
Sip sundowners on the patio, while watching the ships at sea, or just walk across the road to the upmarket La Lucia Mall shopping complex and the Virgin Active Gym and Health Club.
So conveniently situated, Carter’s Lodge is just minutes away from the beaches of La Lucia and Umhlanga and yet is just down the road from the Gateway Entertainment and Shopping Complex, the Umhlanga Ridge Business Centre and Umhlanga Hospital.
Durban, the Sun Coast Casino and the ICC are just 10 minutes drive on a direct route from Carter’s Lodge, while Durban’s International Airport is easily accessible and only 25 minutes away. Restaurants and Pubs can be found just around the corner, whilst several Golf Clubs, Tennis Courts and the Virginia Airport are nearby. For the more adventurous, micro lighting, scuba diving and fishing activities are offered in close proximity and arrangements can be made.
For those special sports events, Carter’s is also conveniently situated for the ABSA (Kings Park) Stadium; Kingsmead Cricket Ground; and Greyville Race Course.
Elegantly decorated, but with a warm and friendly atmosphere, all bedrooms are ensuite, with their own private entrance leading on to the garden and rock pool. Each room is air-conditioned and has TV with M-Net and DSTV, Tea and Coffee facilities, Hair Dryer, Safe, Bar Fridge and Ceiling Fans.

A generous Continental and English breakfast is served either in the elegant dining room or on the patio in the tranquil garden beside the Rock Pool.

Relaxing 2-week stay

Carol and her friendly staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable during our 2 week stay. Lovely breakfast and little extras in the room each day. Very tranquil, yet close to all amenities.
Comfortable Stay in the Durban Area

We enjoyed our stay at Carter's Lodge while passing through Durban. Comfortable room, very nice breakfast food and convenient location. Carol provided good maps and literature, as well as a good dinner suggestion nearby Umhlanga Rocks, and we enjoyed the lighthouse and promenade there too. Took a nice walk down to the beach in the morning from Carter's Lodge.
