Our romantic luxury self catering cottages are tastefully decorated and luxuriously appointed and set in beautiful, rose filled gardens, offering character and charm to the discerning guest. In summertime the cottages are cool and have overhead fans and the shady vine covered patios look out onto beautiful, well treed gardens to the mountains, and in wintertime the cottages are warmed by open log fireplaces – an invitation to cosy evenings around the fire, sipping red wine or hot chocolate. The quaint country village of McGregor is situated just 2 hours from Cape Town on the N1.

Situated on the same property in the centre of the village, each of these 2 luxurious romantic Cape Georgian style cottages has a fully equipped Oregon kitchenette (small fridge, double hob, microwave oven, toaster & kettle), a private vine covered stoep with outdoor table & chairs, a Weber braai, and lovely views across beautiful gardens to the mountains. TV (SABC 1, 2, 3, E-TV & TBN) is available via satellite and DSTV is available if you bring your own smartcard (please note that the smartcard is not transferable in the DSD1110 model decoder or later).

Sunbird Cottage – Our Honeymoon Haven:
Shaded by a large oak tree, this charming Cape Georgian style cottage offers a luxurious queen size bed and romantic open plan double oval bath (there is a screen and a separate toilet for the modest) in a sandstone tiled sleeping and living area with overhead fan & trendy blue ceramic fire pot. The living area is furnished with small dining table and a leather couch for two, and the ceramic fire pot warms the entire area in winter. The rustic stone outside shower has hot & cold water, is open to the stars and is very popular in summer & winter!

Hoopoe – Out of Africa:
The beautiful Hoopoe Cottage has a sandstone tiled living room with a leather sofa and large open fireplace set in sandstone wall, and double French doors opening out onto a vine covered patio and lovely garden with views to the mountains. There is a fully fitted Oregon kitchenette with a dining table. The open plan bedroom has a luxurious queen size bed and exquisite sandstone bathroom with both shower and oval double bath.

PEAR TREE COTTAGE (sleeps 2) – Certified 19th Century National Monument
Shaded by large trees, this dinky thatch cottage for 2 offers a luxurious queen size bed in a spacious terracotta tiled sleeping area with overhead fan, open plan to a terracotta tiled living area, and is furnished with a rectangular oak dining table for 2 and has seating for 4 and a cheery ceramic Firepot – and very thick clay walls which keeps the cottage cool in summer and as warm as toast in winter. The charming bathroom has a shower and toilet and a converted “Singer sewing machine” vanity with locally handcrafted ceramic washbasin. The built in braai can be used as a ptio fireplace in winter and this cottage is very popular for year round braai’s.

WILLOW COTTAGE (sleeps 4) – A Little Piece of Heaven in McGregor
Shaded by a willow tree, our extensively renovated Willow Cottage is gorgeous! The slate tiled living room has a 4 seater leather couch and 2 wicker chairs and a large open fireplace set in a sandstone clad wall, as well as a 4 seater oak dining table. The upstairs Sunflower Loft bedroom has a luxurious queen bed and is SO romantic nestled in the eaves. Please note that there is no open thatch in this bedroom. The beautiful Rose Room bedroom has double French doors which open directly onto the large stoep and overlooks the garden to the mountains. Rose sleeps 2 in a lovely double bed and also has a threequarter bed which can sleep an additional adult or 2 small children if required. The exquisite slate bathroom has a huge double shower and a slate vanity unit with countertop basin. The large elevated stoep has a built in braai and lovely garden and mountain views.
