"We stayed here 5 and 6 September 2015. This was our first visit to Clanwilliam. The overall look of the lodge is ok, but definitely dated. There is a seating area just past reception that looks very beautiful. We stayed in the family room number 33. I got the feeling that this is the room they give to families with small children so other guest doesn't get disturbed. It is completely at the back of the lodge next to the staff quarters. Terrible, terrible, terrible!!! The room has 3 beds scattered around a very large room. Nothing even matches. Carpet is full of stains. The television is an old box television that doesn't even work properly. Towels are very old and they didn't even supply bathrobes. The room was clean but had a mould smell. Bathroom was very basic and looked dated. Again it was at least clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Especially the barman. Swimming Pool look very beautiful with day beds. Loved spending time here. Restaurant: Food is ok and prices are very cheap but very limited choice. They have coffee, juice, cold meat, cheese, cereal, bread, fruit and yogurt available buffet style in the morning followed by a served hot breakfast. Each time we arrived for breakfast the fruit, cold meat and juice was finished and they obviously don't refill. The served hot breakfast was nice. Liked the omelettes. Lucky for us we made a booking through SafariNow and whoever did the quotation, gave us a wrong rate at a much cheaper price. Thank heavens for that because this place is definitely not worth its asking price. I thought the discounted price that we accidently got is still too much for this place. Will definitely not be staying here again."

The atmosphere at the Lodge is very calm and rustic and child friendly. The pool and the beds is great to relax on.
