Our hosts were very nice and helpful in every way. The breakfast was wonderful and offered a wide variety of breads, homemade jams juices and made to order omelettes.
It is not a modern house, it has a sort of antique charm to it.

" Early September 2009 we invited our daughter's family for a 2-week stay in South Africa. We didn't realize what an effort it would take to find lodging for 3 generations: Our daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren ages 3 and 5 years old. The child-friendly, elegant, Sandbaai Country Guest House was the perfect place for our 3-night visit to the Hermanus area. We had 3 rooms overlooking the sea with a common entrance (similar to a 2-story flat).
When our son-in-law fell ill with a bad case of the flu, Riian came to the rescue in a flash. Not only did he recommend and arrange for our visit to the hospital, but he diligently kept in touch with the medical staff that was attending our son-in-law during his overnight hospitalization, as well as relaying the information on to us while we visited sites in the area.
The entire staff at the Sandbaai Guest house went out of their way for us, from washing the kiddies clothes to recommending and making reservations for meals and activities at child-friendly establishments within minutes of the guest house.
We liked the location, the decor, peacefulness, and spaciousness of the guest house. We enjoyed spending time in the lounge and game room overlooking Walker Bay. The guest house is in a safe residential area where the children had room to play, and only minutes away from the tourist attractions in Hermanus.
We thank the entire staff of Sandbaai, especially Riian, for providing us with a "home away from home" and a sense of warmth and caring.
