"This was our second stay at Oude Tol and we loved it just as much! We were there exactly a year ago to the day and everything was just as clean and comfortable as before. There were even homemade rusks again which is such a nice touch and a chocolate on our pillows :) The sheep have had lambs recently so it was just lovely to sit on the deck and have a drink and watch them. We will be back for a third time, no doubt about it!

A side note on the town itself, Tulbagh is lovely, everyone we came across was super friendly and we loved wandering up Church Street visiting the museums and stopping at our favorite spot Coffee and Cream for something to eat.

Ceres, although only 20 minutes away, however is a different story and we've been made to feel very unwelcome there both times we've been, I don't know what it is about that place crikey they obviously don't want people to go there and spend any money! So my advice, if you need anything food wise, bring as much as you can from home or buy in Tulbagh itself and avoid Ceres. "

"Amazing place"

"The friendliest host and hostess. Everything was immaculate and all needs were catered for in so many ways. Definitely going to visit there soon for a proper and longer holiday because more peaceful and comfortable it cannot be anywhere."

"My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay! The only thing that would have made it better would have been Aircon as it gets very hot in Tulbagh"

"Three of us stayed overnight at Oude Tol Farm in the du Plessis' spacious converted farmhouse. All the basics were present, including good sized beds with clean linen, two bathrooms and loads of living space with two kitchen areas.
The outside area was large and we enjoyed a fabulous braai under the stars. A morning walk revealed an assortment of farm animals and nice views over the valley.
And all this for R250 per head.
Many thanks Hadi!"

"We were warmly welcomed by the hosts who showed us around and said we had free roam of their farm.
We were only staying one night, couldnt have stayed longer as there is a masisve fly problem. I understand it is a working chicken farm, but it became unbearable and unhygenic.
Perhaps there are some devices one could use to attract the flies to certain spots.

Establishments Response:

We are very sorry to hear about the fly problem in the house ÒEike DroomÓ.
We also experienced a fly invasion over the last few days around our own house, where we have an automatic insect repellent device, releasing repellent at regular intervals and clearing the house completely of flies.
The same devices are installed in our guest houses, and obviously the one in Eike Droom wasnÕt working properly Ð which we will check immediately and exchange it with our private one, that works so well.
We are sorry that our guests had to endure flies, and that we couldnÕt correct it instantaneously."
