The lodge is set deep in the bush and as such, there are animals wandering close by going about their business. We got up close to zebra, kudu, impala, bush bucks, lizards and wart hogs. We stayed in a lodge house set away from the main lodge and was very quiet, relaxing and comfy. Perfect.

The food is very plentiful and tasty and can be served inside or out. The Grand Kruger Lodge is a special place and is awesome value for money. I can't recommend this place highly enough. "

"The lodge is a fantastic place to stay and the accommodation and staff are very good indeed. The most memorable thing is the feeding of the Warthogs, Zebra, and Kudu just off the veranda...you get to see these wild animals come to within two feet of where you are having your meals.

I found the food very good with enough selection each evening to accommodate most tastes. The swimming pool looks small, but it still very refreshing during the heat of the day, and my two year old and I spent quite a few hours in it splashing around. If I have any suggestions for improvement, it will only be for better signage on the rough track (approx 2kms from the tarmac) towards the lodge to reassure incoming guests they are not yet totally lost. We did not take any of the safari trek outs, but talking with the guides would give me confidence that if you do take the tour, you would be in safe and experienced hands.

All in all, we had a very positive experience staying at this out of the way lodge"

Special thanks to Arnoux, who kept us informed and ensured our comfort on game drives, picnics and in the lounge bar. Not to mention having tracked down each of the Big 5 for us before lunch-time on our first day!



Doctor, Angel and Lucky all did a great job and were always on hand to assist, I canÕt think of anywhere else weÕve been where we were made to feel more at home. The accommodation and food were first rate - testament to the high quality package you obviously seek to provide to your guests.



On the days when we just chilled out, breakfasting in the company of warthogs, zebra, niyala, impala, monkeys and birds was a new and pleasant experience.



We thoroughly enjoyed the game drive from Crocodile Bridge gate (and breakfast with a view of the hippos and crocs at Lower Sabie) and the experience of walking in the Kruger (stalking a pair of white rhino, for crying out loud!). The Sunset drive along the Marloth / Kruger fence and the picnic supper, set up by Arnoux, were picture-postcard stuff and brilliantly capped our second major lion sighting.

As to other activities, the people at the (Swazi) Cultural Experience need to be told that the contented crocodile in the pool next to village restaurant should get a mention.

IÕve told all of my friends about the Grand Kruger Lodge and, would like to think that some of them will pay you a visit - perhaps around the time of next yearÕs Comrades ultramarathon when a number of us will be back in South Africa.

"My experience of staying at Grand Kruger Lodge was excellent. I enjoyed the kindness and friendliness of the staff. The manager (Docter Mtsweni) was always visible and friendly, always showing interests to the guest.
I enjoyed the food. It was great, both breakfast and dinner. I gained a couple of kilogram during my stay, not because the food was fatty but because I could not help over eating. The food was great. When you take a bite, the taste feels like tooth fairy’s doing a moon walk on my tongue. That is the closest I can describe the taste.
The game drive was excellent. The game ranger known as (naughty boy) was friendly and kind. He showed that he enjoys his job and that he is knowledgeable about what he does. Every time we had a question he will find a good parking spot and stop and give us a detailed answer to our question and all the follow up question thereafter and he also gave good service and conversation during dinner.

But what makes the Grand Kruger Lodge stand out among the rest is the superior service. From check in to check out we were well looked after. Leon and Doctor (owners), Anro (guide), Zechariah (chef) and all the staff made us feel like family and royalty at the same time.
