"Very good as always, although room 3 not as practical as room 1. Will request room 1 in future!"

"Very comfortable, well equipped, clean, excellent catering, but had a problem the first night with excessive noise from the main building, but the contact (Colin) was out of town and the other contact (Esther) did not answer her phone. I had to resolve the problem myself. Evidently no staff stay on the premises at night. The next morning Felicity was very apologetic about the incident, as were the other staff members, but, I have yet to get any contact from either Colin or Esther.

Surely there should be someone on site overnight to resolve any issues / problems, or at any rate within easy access to the property - and be available. What if a serious problem occurs - must guests take matters into their own hands; who would be held responsible for any damage etc.

Other than this incident, I would go back as I was very impressed with Acorn."

"Warm, welcoming, pleasant"

"We stayed one night only. But we wish we had stayed there longer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful house, and they were very warm and welcoming. Better service than most 5 star hotels. Will definitely recommend to people."

"Quiet and friendly"

"This was a peaceful refuge after a long drive. Warm, friendly and typically South African in its' welcome. Enjoyable. Great send off in the morning but then again, I do like big breakfasts and this one didn't disappoint. "

"Our flight to George was slightly delayed and we ended up checking in very late (about 20h00). There were people to greet us at the door and offer us help with our luggage and a sherry to warm us up a bit.

The room was beautiful and had a lot of thoughtful touches (peaceful sleep in the cupboards, tea /coffee and a variety of toiletries.) and as a result you immediately felt at home.

The breakfasts in the morning were filling and very creative (always something different to offer each morning). However if you wanted the something specific, this was also accommodated. The hosts did not seem to know the word no or we cannot. The guest house is also central and hence in walking distance from restaurants and sports grounds. We were sad when we left and carry many fond memories of our stay.
We would highly recommend this guest house to anyone.

"Honeymoon"

"Absolutely lovely place to stay and a wonderful honeymoon welcome. The breakfast was the best I had in S.A! The owner couldn't do enough to help.

A wonderful place for rest bite along the garden route.

We were at 9 Lodges and B&B’s and this one was absolutely one of the two best if not the best.

"George is a good centre from which to access the Little Karoo, the coastline and the steam train.
Our room was spotless leading directly onto the pool and terrace where breakfast was served.

The town is safe for walking to restaurants, even when there is a power cut (the Acorn lend torches).Only five minutes walk from the town centre.

Colin, the proprietor, was a welcoming host and a fount of knowledge for tourism possibilities
