"Quiet and secluded self-catering loft apartment. Parking is on the grass verge, outside the establishment. Access to the apartment is via several steps and a steep slope. Not for the infirm or heavily laden. Appreciated the milk, tea, coffee, butter, English muffins and selection of jams provided as a starter pack. Lovely flower arrangement in the living room. Ros provided just the right degree of attentiveness. Much appreciated."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Harbour House. Ros made sure that we felt very welcome with breakfast supplies and gorgeous flowers and even a bottle of wine. The view is stunning. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the area. Thank you Ros, you made our little break a great one. "

We even joked with the friendly owners that we'd like to buy the space. An attic apartment set up in a way that you're hardly aware of the owners occupying the main house just below. Really good bank for your buck!"

"Very comfortable and spacious enough for all four of us. The pics on website is exactly what it looks like - which is very nice ( usually pics better than actual, but not the case here). Harbour House definitely met our expectations. Ros also thought of all the little things that added to the comfort e.g. hairdryer, and 'starter goodies' in the fridge. We will definitely recommend Harbour House - and stay there again! Thanks again, Ros.

"Harbour House is worth the best recommendations! We really enjoyed our stay there. The apartment and the facilities were very good and the service from Ros and Paul Follet was outstanding. The view from the windows and the terrace was breathtaking.

"We visited South Africa 2 years ago and visited Simon's Town ( ST ) and felt it would be a good base from which to visit Cape Town, Cape Point etc. It far exceeded our expectations both as a town and in the cottage. There is a frequent and safe one hour train journey to the centre of CT at a return fare of less than £ 2.00, ST has a number of excellent shops, good fish restaurants and good parking. It is central to a number of small coastal towns and has Cape of Good Hope and the Penguin colony just down the road.

The cottage was a real delight. Well stocked, light and airy with superb views over the most interesting naval dockyard and sea, Paul and Ross were fantastic hosts and we are in the process of booking for next year, A really memorable 7 day stay, The location makes it easy to walk into town (5 minutes) and we particularly enjoyed the food and atmosphere in Salty Seadog restaurant in the harbour"

Best of all...... Even over peak periods it does not get too busy.

"The apartment in the attic of Harbour House is charming with stunning views over the bay in Simons Town. It is well decorated and maintained and furnished in a rustic style. Access is separate from the main house, up an outside staircase. It is just one level above the main road so is only minutes from a variety of restaurants and cafes in Simons Town. Local beaches, including the penguin beaches, are within half an hour's walking distance. There are several good hikes to be accessed directly from Harbour House.

The landlady living in the main house is extremely helpful and is able to provide useful information about Cape Town and the surrounding area. Wi-fi access was not available when we stayed there but may be available in the future. Check in advance if this is a priority.

Overall Harbour House is a delightful place for a holiday."

"The ambience of Harbour House enveloped us from the moment Ros unlocked the apartment.

The view from every window is spectacular!

The lounge is cosy and inviting, especially with the morning sun. I enjoyed catching some early sunlight with a book from the collection in the apartment. The bedroom is neat and airy, and the bathroom is spotless. The kitchen has everything you need, including a toaster and a washing machine. The apartment has its own little terrace overlooking the harbour.

Harbour House is fully equipped with everything you need to be comfortable. Its convenient and easy-to-find location allows you to leave your car parked and to tour the area on foot.

But what really makes this place special is the thoughtfulness that Ros puts into preparing everything for you. She has even compiled a file containing a map of the area, places of interest and the best restaurants. The little extras (like muffins and juice for your first morning right down to a hot water bottle, Radox and shampoo in the bathroom!) are the things that I will tell people about when I recommend Harbour House to them. It's the perfect place to get away and still have all the comforts of home.

My fiancé and I only have one regret about our stay at Harbour House: We should have booked for longer than just one weekend!

"We decided we wanted to stay away from the hustle & bustle of Cape Town itself so decided to choose Simon's Town. Harbour House offered easy to find (there's a signpost from the main road) quiet, clean & cosy accommodation overlooking the harbour.

There is a washing machine & microwave in addition to the usual facilities plus the shower is a good one.

From Simon's Town we found it easy to explore the Cape Peninsula & Cape Town itself; plus the penguins (and baboons/rock dassies) are only a 20min walk away.

I would recommend Harbour House to anyone."
