The setting is stunning, our luxury tented suite offered privacy and wonderful views over the valley. We felt as though we had stepped onto a film set - huge draped bed, enormous deep bath and open-air shower, this together with fabulous decor, linen, our own deck with loungers made for a relaxing African experience. We booked an early morning game drive and managed to get great photos of rhino, giraffe, elephant, most species of antelope and the rare black impala. Stuart our guide was great with an excellent knowledge of local fauna and flora.

Unfortunately we did not have time to enjoy the Spa or pool area - perhaps next time as we certainly hope to return."

We had tea with the elephants not long after. We wanted a taster for a safari we only stayed one night. My partner left a lot of cash hanging out of her pocket on bed in a hurry. We came back the bed had been turned down and the cash was still there. There is a safe my partner just forgot to put cash in it. Just one very minor point on the directions it says little brak river. However it is klien brak river on signpost off N2 it means the same. Luckily i speak a bit of dutch and knew what it meant so i found the game reserve. Overall fantastic wish we had stayed a couple of nights. All staff very friendly and helpful especially Stuart."

Game reserve far exceeded our expectations. WE had been warned that 'Private Game reserves were large safari parks. In Boltierskop's case this is not so. We were entranced by coming across giraffes eating in the trees and water buffalo appearing to want to charge the truck. Running impala and mad wildebeests set off the whole trip.

Food was good; not excellent. Experience was excellent not just good. The write up does not do justice to the game reserve and game ride. Note: Binoculars provided for each tent. Very thoughtful."

From the moment we arrived the guides went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Especially our personal guide, Ayrton, received us with warmth and calmness that immediately put us at ease and in a relaxed mode. We felt this from the other staff as well wherever we went.
The food was always of excellent quality with some great tastes of Africa.
We also enjoyed relaxing in the warm water of the pool from where you can regularly see the elephants and nyala grazing. Our son especially enjoyed this part.
We found that the game drive led by Ayrton was a really wonderful and truly an African experience even for us that live here in South Africa.
A real exceptional moment was when we drove over the crest of a hill and you can see the giraffes meandering across the game reserve on the one side and also see the beautiful Mossel Bay and the sea on the other side.
We found the tents to be very luxurious with everything you could possibly need, and for the first time in our travel experiences had more than enough good quality towels for our needs!
The location of our tent under some big trees was really great and seeing the vervet monkeys playing around our tent and in the trees one morning was a memorable moment.
Even now, a week later, we still can't get over this wonderful, life-enhancing time we had and would have wanted to stay for weeks longer.
We can definitely recommend staying at Botlierskop as we will again in the future!
