Reviews of Moontide Guest Lodge

"Rather disappointed with the quality of our room. Did not compare with 4 star standard of rooms which we have stayed in previous 3 nights.
On the website the rooms look lovely, but Milkwood is below par. A little tired!
Breakfast was very good, and so was our welcome."

"Perfect!"

"Wonderful Guest House overlooking the lagoon of Wilderness. Perhaps our best accommodation in South Africa. The cottage was luxurious, furnished in style and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast served in the beautiful garden. Very kind and friendly the manager."

"I can't recommend Moontide Guest Lodge highly enough. What we got for the price we paid was exceptional. Absolutely beautiful rooms, with the greatest attention to detail. We felt that we got far more than we expected. "

The rooms are all nice (we popped into most of them to check them out) and it's so close to Knysna and George.

If you need to take a break from work and just relax, I would strongly recommend Moontide."

"We booked the Moonriver Suite at Moontide Guest Lodge for 10 days as part of our honeymoon and it truely was a fantastic experience! We used our stay there to relax and to explore the beautiful Garden Route and Klein Karoo. There is so much to do and to see in the area that we never had a dull moment. We would love to come back to see and do more. The location was inspiring and offered us the opportunity to enjoy a great variety of local flora, fauna and birdlife. Everywhere we went the people were so warm and friendly, a home from home. The holiday of a lifetime and the perfect start to a new life together."

"We spent a wonderful and peaceful night at Moontide Guest Lodge. Right besides the river with nice canoes and a paddle boat. If you want the best view choose the tree tops room or the boat shed right by the water. We enjoyed every minute!"

The breakfast setting on the deck is stunning and we also enjoyed sitting out among the fairy lights in the evening to enjoy a glass of wine. There is also a sweet little pool and some canoes and a paddle boat to use.
The standard of the accommodation is excellent and the Wi-Fi is good too.

"My husband and I have just returned from a 2 week fly-drive holiday in South Africa. We stayed for 2 nights at Moontide Guest Lodge in Treetops room.

We found the establishment easily, located on the lagoon at Wilderness, yet it is hidden away amongst the trees. It was a quick 2 minute drive to the main village and beach areas with lots of restaurants to choose from.

On arrival, we were welcomed by Renee, the manager, who was excellent - friendly and helpful. The facilities were beautiful and we were well looked after. Our room was magical, with a climb up into the tree canopy and a super deck area with views over the lagoon. We particularly liked the outside shower hidden away. I would not recommend this room for guests with mobility difficulties, but there are plenty of other rooms to choose from, all a little bit different. The only negative thing I would say, is bring lots of insect repellant. However, getting bitten was worth it! I would recommend Moontide for couples."

The proprietors, Renee and the lady who owns it are exceptionally helpful and referred us to some fantastic restaurants in the very nearby town. A great central location for Wilderness and a real treat to stay there.
Would recommend to anyone - it was superb.
