The Gun Run is a popular half-marathon that runs along the coast in Green Point. The race was first held in 1993 and is split into three different distances for athletes of varying fitness levels with a 21, 10, and 5 kilometre run.

The half marathon starts outside the Cape Town stadium and the route takes runners around the lighthouse, through the Waterfront and along the fan walk into Sea Point. Runners proceed up Kloof Road and head down into Camps Bay. Following Victoria Road through Clifton and Bantry Bay, runners return to the promenade through Sea Point and finally finishing in the beautiful new Green Point Park.
