This fun event is a unique protest against car culture and to raise awareness of cycling as an environmentally friendly option.

The World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is an initiative that takes place in over 50 cities around the world. Cape Town will join with all other participating cities in the Southern Hemisphere for a nude cycle around their city.

The aim of the event is both to create awareness of the environmental damage caused by carbon emitting vehicles, as well as also highlighting the dangers faced by the cyclists. The event aims to be a peaceful and fun way of demonstrating for a worthy cause.

The ride is open to all cyclists and the entry is free. Many of the cyclists also wear body paint and write slogans on their body explaining the message of the ride.
