The Polar Bear Plunge at Victoria Bay is your chance to hit the beach this winter!

The Polar Bear Plunge is SO much more than just an icy dip in the ocean, it’s an opportunity for you to identify with those who go to bed cold every night, and make a difference in their lives by donating a blanket. With so many homeless and underprivileged people struggling to stay warm as the cold weather takes hold, dotsure.co.za has been inspired to launch the Polar Bear Plunge as a way to show solidarity and offer practical help to those in need in the Eden district.

Whether you want to earn bragging rights or just spread warmth to those in need, don’t let cold weather keep you away from a fun-filled family day out. Leading online insurer, dotsure.co.za (a product of Oakhurst Insurance) is challenging everybody in the Eden district to come and take the plunge! The challenge is pretty much what you’d imagine, except having actual polar bears taking part. For this event dotsure.co.za can guarantee the following:

The inaugural dotsure.co.za Polar Bear Plunge will be held at Victoria Bay on Saturday, the 6th of August 2016 from 10am.

Entry fee is one blanket per participant, the whole family can take a plunge into Victoria Bay to tackle a fun obstacle course, or the icy foot challenge on the beach or even show their mettle with a proper swim.

Dress in orange to show your support, great prizes up for grabs for the best dressed. Unfortunately wetsuits will not be allowed.

After braving the frigid water, which is expected to be around 15 degrees celsius, participants can defrost with a free cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

All blankets collected on the day will be passed on to various charities in and around the Eden District for distribution to those in need. Your blanket donation can make a huge difference to someone’s life.
