Garden Route

Also in the Western Cape, the Garden Route region has a variety of excellent courses from the acclaimed Fancourt in George to scenic courses in both Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. Allow yourself three to four days, or more, to enjoy the golf and the many other attractions of the Garden Route region. It's highly advisable to book your round of golf in advance, particularly in peak season to avoid disappointment.

Cape Town and surrounds

In particular, the Western Cape has a wide variety of top courses to offer all set in beautiful surroundings. With a variety of excellent courses within Cape Town and its surrounds, Cape Town is the ideal base from which to enjoy a golfing holiday. Mountain views, ocean views and rolling vineyards are some of the surroundings to be enjoyed on a selection of superb courses - many of which have been designed by top international players. Accommodation is available at a variety of hotels, guesthouses and B&B's throughout Cape Town - while some courses offer their own hotel or lodge. Just an hour away from Cape Town, the winelands regions of Stellenbosch and Paarl are also home to some excellent courses including Erinvale and Spier.

Rest of South Africa

In addition there are also excellent golf courses throughout the country and in most of the major tourist areas including Durban and the Kwazulu-Natal coast, Gauteng and, probably the most famous golf course in South Africa, the Gary Player Country Club at Sun City in the North West Province.
