Two Oceans Aquarium

Waterfront

Open every day of the year, the Two Oceans Aquarium provides an insight into the spellbinding world of the southern African coastline. Situated in the V&A Waterfront, the Aquarium invites visitors to explore below the water-level taking in displays of over 3000 marine creatures including tiny animals such as the Knysna Seahorse, to larger more fearsome ones like large ragged-tooth sharks.

Take in the strong, resilient fish that call the freezing Atlantic Ocean their home then wander further through the aquarium, stopping to marvel at the bright colours of the inhabitants of the warm Indian Ocean. A visit to the Aquarium usually takes between 1.5 and 2 hours and visitors should be prepared to walk a fair distance if they wish to see all of the displays.

Without a doubt, the most popular animals in the Two Oceans Aquarium are the ragged-tooth sharks, housed in the I&J Predator Exhibit and visible through an enormous 11m-wide by 4m-high acrylic panel.
