The White Lady

Uis

Located deep in the Brandberg Mountains is the White Lady bushmen rock painting. The painting is dated to have been painted at least 2000 years, and shows a medicine man performing a ritual dance. The white colour suggests that he is wearing a decorative outfit or has his body painted. Discovered in 1918, the White Lady is now a protected heritage site and visits are arranged with official guides who will take you on a 40 minute hike to the location of the paintings. The area in which the White Lady is situated is very rich in bushmen paintings with over a 1000 in the area.
