Covering an area of approximately 14,527 hectares, the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve is located 10 kilometres outside Stellenbosch and offers many beautiful views of the valley.

The fynbos covered mountains of the Jonkershoek Reserve make for great hikes, varying in length from 5 to 18 kilometres. Small rivers run down the mountain forming two main waterfalls in the reserve. The waterfalls are at their best during winter after rain has fallen.

One can also enjoy trout fishing in the streams that run through the valleys, as well as dams that are set up. Also you can cycle through the valley, which makes for a wonderful ride with great views.
