The beautiful and highly acclaimed La Motte estate offers a circular hiking trail along the mountainside which takes in spectacular views off the valley and a diversity of fynbos. The walk is 5.6km and should take about 2-hours – it is fairly strenuous in parts, so proper walking shoes are advisable. The hike needs to be pre-booked and is open to visitors Monday – Sunday from 9:00 – 14:00. Hikes can be pre-booked at the La Motte Tasting Room – Tel. +27 (0)21 876 8820, and cost R50 per person.

La Motte estate has many other attractions also worth exploring including a greenhouse tour of their disa’s (in season), as well as The Tasting Room, Farm Shop and Pierneef á La Motte Restaurant.
