With some of the highest planted vineyards in the Cape, Chamonix Wine Farm in Franschhoek is set amongst some 300 hectares of spectacular natural beauty on the eastern mountain slopes. Originally part of the La Cotte Estate, dating back to 1688, today the farm produces award winning wines, bottled Spring water and invites guests to enjoy intimate wine tastings, fine French cuisine at Mon Plaisir restaurant, as well as beautiful facilities and accommodation for weddings and special functions.

Wine tastings can be enjoyed daily between 09h30 and 17h00 in the "The Blacksmith's Cottage", built in the late 18th Century and converted into a comfortable tasting venue. Bookings are advised. Wonderful Tapas and cheese platters can be ordered sand enjoyed along with your tasting.

Seated either indoors, or on the deck surrounded by leafy green trees, dining at Mon Plaisir is a culinary treat with its strong French influences.
