Durban’s beachfront is known as the Golden Mile, and has numerous amusement arcades, flea markets, quality restaurants and fast-food outlets all creating a festive holiday atmosphere. Offering gorgeous stretches of golden sands, sub-tropical sunshine and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, Durban’s beaches are provide all the ingredients for the ideal summer holiday. Watched over by life guards and protected by shark nets; the waters are safe and inviting.

This is a water sport haven and surfers, body boarders and kite-surfers flock to the shores year round to play in the waves and enjoy the warm waters. Both Durban’s North and South Coast is dotted with Blue flag beaches that are noted for their clean sands and beautiful waters.

Once you’ve had your fill of sea and sand, you can retire to sip a cocktail at one of the many laidback bars or restaurants that follow the coastline or immerse yourself in some entertainment at one of the amusement parks.
