In the foothills of the Drakensberg lies the Kamberg Nature Reserve, a popular spot for those who enjoy exploring the great outdoors. The reserve is home to a variety of wildlife including wildebeest, blesbok, eland, red hartebeest and oribi.

A number of trails run through the Little Berg and along the Mooi River including a handicap friendly trail. In the mountains are original Bushmen rock art painted by the San who used to live in the area. There are also a number of picnic spots next to rivers and trout dams. Visitors can also go on horse riding excursions through the reserve.
