Hartbeespoort Aerial Cableway

With beautiful panoramic views of Hartbeespoort Dam and the Magaliesberg Mountains, the cableway is an excellent outing for families. The cableway is the longest mono-cableway in Africa and offers 360° views of one of the most gorgeous areas in South Africa. The Magaliesberg is a World Heritage site known for its rich heritage, beautiful valleys and its diverse flora and fauna.

The cableway was first constructed in 1973 and was a popular attraction until it closed in 2005. It was then brought back to life by a company called Zargodox in 2010. The cable cars were completely revamped a number of hi-tech features making for a world-class cableway experience.

Return tickets on the cableway can be bought at the ticket office and cost R140 per adult and R80 per child (four-14; children under four travel for free!). If it's your birthday, you get to travel for free on the cableway, just make sure to bring along your South African ID book.
