Buitenverwachting
ConstantiaLocated on the slopes of the Constantiaberg mountains is the Buitenverwachting wine estate which previously belonged to the first governor of the Cape, Simon Van Der Stel. The estate produces over 10 award-winning wines including their signature wine, Christine. In 2004 The Wine Spectator rated Buitenverwachting as one of the 50 greatest wine estates in the world.
The vineyards grow in deep, decomposing granite soils which are cooled by the ocean breezes, which creates a unique aromatic profiles. The restaurant at the estate has a light and airy atmosphere with beautiful views of the vineyards and surrounds.
