African Bird of Prey Sanctuary

Midlands

Opened in 2006 and found on 60 ha of picturesque woodlands, this haven protects 180 different birds of prey from 50 different species. The sanctuary’s mission is “the conservation of indigenous birds of prey through practical research, scientific rehabilitation, specialised breeding and creative education.”

This area of land is owned by the Mayibuye community, who share in a percentage of all gate takings. The sanctuary is easily accessible, and it is advised that groups of 20 or more should book in advance so as to ensure that all your needs are met.

Open Wednesday to Sunday from 09h00 to 16h00. Closed on Christmas Day.
