De Hoop and De Mond Nature Reserves
ArnistonThe two nature reserves are situated nearby to each other with De Mond further down the coast between Arniston and Struisbaai, and De Hoop near the Breede River.
The two Nature Reserves are focussed on the conservation of endangered marine life, mammals, coastal landscape. The area has great game viewing with 86 mammals, and visitors can leave their cars and go on a walk in the reserve.
Whales, dolphins and seals can be seen from the shore, with 40% of the global Southern Right Whales breeding in the waters around the reserve. The Cape Floral Kingdom, an endangered plant kingdom runs through the reserve.
