This old nature reserve is managed by the City of Tshwane and is a great area for angling and camping, as well as being abundant in birdlife. Fish species found here include banded tilapia, sharptooth catfish, canary curper and bass. Over 200 bird species can also be seen including Red-capped larks, pipits and orange-throated longclaws.

Other activities and attractions include a swimming pool, restaurant, canoeing and motorboats which are available for hire.

Campsites with and without electricity are also available should you wish to stay over.
