Iziko South African Museum

The iconic South African Museum, located at the top of the beautiful Company Gardens in the city centre, is home to over 1.5 million pieces of scientific importance. The museum was founded in 1825 and moved to its current building in 1897.
Some of the permanent exhibits here include Virtual Earth, Darwin & the Cape, African Dinosaurs, Wonders of Nature, Whale Well, Our Place in the Universe, marine exhibits and more including an interactive children’s centre.
The museum is open from 10h00 – 17h00 daily.
Entrance Fees: Adults R30, Students, children and pensioners R15. Children under 5 enter for free. You can also purchase a family ticket which costs R75 for two adults and two kids.
