We are passionate about showcasing Knysna’s natural assets. The breath-taking Garden Route setting provides us with the ideal platform from which to introduce visitors to our rich aquatic heritage, our iconic estuary and adjacent coastline.

Close Encounter Whale Watching

Let’s get up close and personal with these majestic giants that inhabit our vast and pristine Indian ocean. These migratory mammals, Southern Right and Humpback whales, grace us with their presence from June to November annually showing off their acrobatic skills while nurturing their young.

Marine Eco Tour

Departing from Thesen Island Marina, we cross the Knysna Estuary to the Knysna heads and proceed through the mouth out into the teeming Indian Ocean. This trip will take you on a marine adventure in search of dolphins, seals, penguins and birdlife. View the unique and magnificent Garden Route coastline in all its glory!

Our Whale watching and Marine Eco trips are ocean going trips and are weather and sea conditions dependent. Conditions are influenced by tide, wind direction, wind speed and the swell at sea.
