Boat Trip to Seal Island
Hout Bay
Just 30 minutes off of the coast of Hout Bay, one will find Seal Island or Duiker Island. Visitors to the area can take a boat trip out the island; that acts as a sanctuary for a colony of Cape Fur seals and many water birds; including Kelp Gulls, Black Cormorants and Hartlaub Gulls. A bout trip may also take one past the nearby shipwreck of the Boss 400, a large crane barge that was stranded in 1994.
