East London is South Africa's only river port city and is found at the mouth of the Buffalo River. With a rich history of both Xhosa and Settler history, the city has many interesting cultural attractions to visit as well as long stretches of sandy beaches and, warm waters for a host of water and outdoor activities.

This relaxed and friendly city is well positioned between Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg to provide an ideal stopover. Warm sunny days and a moderate year-round climate allow for outdoor and adventure activities all-year round including scuba diving, fishing, coastal hiking trails and horse-riding. East London is the gateway to the rustic beach resorts of the Wild Coast and the Sunshine Coast, as well as being within easy reach of a number of game reserves.
