East London is South Africa's only river port city and is found at the mouth of the Buffalo River. With a rich history of both Xhosa and Settler history, the city has many interesting cultural attractions to visit as well as long stretches of sandy beaches and, warm waters for a host of water and outdoor activities.

This relaxed and friendly city is well positioned between Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg to provide an ideal stopover. Warm sunny days and a moderate year-round climate allow for outdoor and adventure activities all-year round including scuba diving, fishing, coastal hiking trails and horse-riding. There are also plenty of shops, café's restaurants and galleries to visit and enjoy.

East London is the gateway to the rustic beach resorts of the Wild Coast and the Sunshine Coast, as well as being within easy reach of a number of game reserves.
