The north-eastern Free State town of Heilbron falls into the ‘Riemland Region’ and centres around mixed farming including cattle, sheep and maize and has some interesting historical sites originating from the Anglo Boer war. The towns name means ‘spring of healing’ and was named after a nearby strong natural spring.
There are many outdoor activities to be enjoyed, including watersports at the nearby dam.
