Situated in the fertile Crocodile River valley, Nelspruit is the capital of Mpumalanga and offers a gateway to the Panorama region and the Kruger National Park.
The region, with its warm, tropical climate and fertile soils, is ideal for citrus fruit farming and bananas, mangoes, avocados and nuts are grown in abundance. The town in itself has a tropical feel with bright blooms and flowering trees lining the streets. Green hills surround Nelspruit and offer many beautiful hiking trails.
Nelspruit is home to some interesting attractions such as the Lowveld Botanical Gardens, which boasts an abundance of birdlife and many rare plant species including a collection of cycads and ferns. Also nearby, in the Mankelekele Hills, are the impressive Sudwala Caves with their displays of stalactites and stalagmites.
